Carte Blanche with Lindsey Regan Thorne

Carte Blanche with Lindsey Regan Thorne

Posted by Claire Van Zee on

As a long-time follower and Internet friend of Lindsey, I was thrilled she agreed to set the table with us as we passed through her hometown of Charlotte, the first stop of our summer pop-up series. In keeping with her contagiously cheerful style, her sun-drenched patio was beaming with layered prints and a vibrant color story that epitomized the summer moments we all crave. I couldn’t help but pick her brain on her beauty secrets, and she divulged a few favorites in our Q&A below. Above all, I share the exact sentiment she had that the best part of this business is connecting with other creatives and “learning what beauty means to women in all different fields and stages of life.” Her definition is one worth taking note of, so enjoy her take on making meals memories and should you find yourself in Aspen next week, come see us! Details below.

In between running Swan Beauty and raising her two kids, Lindsey uncovers Amazon treasures like these under-$200 bamboo folding chairs, a perfect back-stock style when you need to pull up a few extra seats.

LINDSEY TELLS ALL

///

Current color crush: Blue (and green!)

Eternal style muse: Aerin Lauder

An under-the-radar Instagram feed that’s a total treasure trove: @maryandcrew puts together the most drool-worthy flatlays

Best part of your business: Connecting with so many amazing creative individuals! I have loved learning what beauty means to women in all different work fields and stages of life. The Charlotte community is full of so many incredible women and we are humbled by the outpouring of support we have received!

Your happy place: The ocean, palm trees, Spanish Moss… I think my family was made for the low country life and it’s a dream to live in a beach town one day!

Film you’ve seen more times than you care to admit: Safe Haven (predictable, but it was filmed in Wilmington and South Port, a sweet little beach town both my hubby and I are very familiar with). Another one, Nights in Rodanthe, Serendipity, Dirty Dancing… the list of chick flicks is long! ;)

Avenue must-have: I have been wearing my ribbon rattan hearts all summer! What's made the biggest impact in my home are the three palm leaf candle holders that I own!  They make our home so happy!

Favorite Charlotte haunt: A little bit outside of the queen city, but we LOVE Kindred - that’s our favorite spot! Stagioni is always a goodie too. I'm a homebody so typically you won't find me at those spots... I'll be on my back porch sipping my a cocktail, watching the kiddos play in the backyard and playing records. I'm an old soul at best.

Something few people know: I’m the most extroverted-introvert- as much as I love being with clients and at events, I prefer to be at home with the fam. Sitting on the back porch is my idea of a fun Saturday night!

Coffee table book of choice: I love the Assouline books - more for the beautiful spine and color! ;) The most gorgeous coffee table book I own is The Book Of Flowers, but I love flipping through Lisa Newsom The Art Of Outdoor Living and Tom Scheerer More Decorating

A quote or mantra to sum up your current style mood: Buy what you like - live what you love!

Our fridge is never without: Rosé… kidding (but not really), fresh fruit, hummus and all of the condiments.

Current dream vaca destination: Greece

Wouldn’t it be cool if: Sand magically disappeared the moment you stepped off the beach?! ;) We’re home from the beach and I’m somehow still cleaning up sale piles from all over our home.

Summer drink of choice: Ketel One Botanicals vodka, soda water/lacroix, splash of grapefruit, and a squeeze of lime!

Current beauty favorite obsession: Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream
